The First Trip In The U.S

On April 15, Sunday morning, the sky was as blue as the ocean. The sunlight was really brilliant, so my husband and I decided to take a trip. Since the weather was so beautiful and chose to take a long walk outside.

We decided to go to the Oakland Mormon Temple (Jesus Christ). When we arrived there, we were surprised that it was very nice and serene. The temple is built on the top of the mountain.

The bottom of the temple is gray and the top is gold and it looks like a tower. There is a reflecting pool in front of the gate. Pure water flows through the pool into a creek. There is an arched bridge over the creek. We walked on it and enjoyed the breeze, the sunlight and the birds' singing.

Suddenly, we noticed that the reflection of the sunlight in the creek looked like sparkling diamonds. We found a lot of pebbles under the water. Alongside the creek there were a lawn on each side and a lot of flowers. We felt that we were standing in an ocean of flowers. It was really as beautiful as a picture or a poem.

We continued our walk up some stairs. Flowers surrounded the temple, also. We saw a couple. They were about middle age. They cuddled together and sat in front of the flowers. This atmosphere made me remember a Chinese proverb: “A person who looks at a beautiful view will become part of the view.” I thought, they and we had an empathy.

Fortunately, we were alive. We shared many things: sadness, happiness, cold, warm, sweet, bitter......
